Katy Zhou

Principal

About me

Katy Zhou, Principal of GBR Realty Australia was the first and is currently the only Chinese real estate agent in Cairns. Her profile in the real estate industry is highly and widely recognized through industry networks and feature articles in the Cairns Post and other publications in the Chinese community all over Australia.

With a background of more than ten years of living in Cairns and five years in tourism, Katy has become a popular personality in the local community as well as having an extensive network of clientele in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast and PRC China where she recorded sales of 13 new apartments in a single month in China.

Born and brought up in Shanghai, which is one of the biggest property markets in the world, and trained as a musician, Katy has vast experience in selling residential apartments, land and houses, luxury properties, as well as commercial real estate and businesses. She is regularly looking for properties in the $500,000 to $5million price range for her overseas and national clients.

Speaking both English and Mandarin enables Katy to bridge the gap between her western/eastern clientele, which gives her a distinct advantage over local agents when dealing with Chinese clients where language may be a barrier.

Katy uses a tailored approach to meet the needs of each individual client and their property and employs innovative marketing to target local, national and overseas buyers.

For Katy, it’s not just about the sale of a property, but in developing client relationships well into the future. She’ll go out of her way to accommodate a client and make time for them.

Katy’s 2 mottos: “Anything I do, I put my heart into it!” and “Making the impossible, possible” instills confidence for her clients as they appreciate her friendly, honest, trustworthy and helpful approach together with her boundless energy and hardworking and determined attitude to achieve the best results for them.
